On 1 March 2024, St Aloysius Gonzaga School hosted a De-addiction talk for Class VIII & IX students. Mrs Suman Pinto, a Consultant Counsellor, highlighted various forms of drug addiction, stressing that even a single use can lead to abuse. She discussed reasons why young people turn to drugs and early signs of risk. Mrs Pinto provided strategies to resist peer pressure and say no to drugs. The Principal Fr Melwyn Anil Lobo SJ also warned against individuals exploiting youth vulnerabilities. The session aimed to educate students about the dangers of substance abuse and empower them to make healthy choices. It concluded with the hope that students would apply the knowledge gained to lead fulfilling, drug-free lives.
